16-year-old charged with joining white supremacist group
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with several counts of violating Section 114 of the Penal Code – popularly known as the “terrorism clause”.
The young man is accused of enlisting in the international neo-Nazi Feuerkrieg Division, which prosecutors describe as a “terrorist group”.
In addition, he is accused of attempting to recruit another person to join the terrorist association and of sharing militant extremist material as well as bomb and weapons manuals.
The now 16-year-old was arrested on April 7 last year and has been in custody as a surrogate since.
It is the prosecution’s opinion that the 16-year-old has taken on a leadership role in the Feuerkrieg Division.
The case against the 16-year-old has been brought as a jury trial, as the prosecution considers that there may be a question of punishing the defendant with 4 years in prison or more. The case is scheduled to start at the Court in Holbæk on March 14.
