Teenagers convicted of multiple robberies and assaults
Six youths, ages 16 to 18, were sentenced friday to prison terms for multiple robberies and counts of assault.
The verdict was handed down Friday in Copenhagen City Court (Københavns Byret).
The robberies took place in Copenhagen during November 2021, and the victims were other young people who were either subjected to violence or threatened with violence to hand over their valuables or clothes. Both cases of violence were recorded on video and one video was shared on social media. Both the violence and the robberies were carried out in different constellations and together with other perpetrators whose cases are heard by the Juvenile Delinquency Board when they were under the age of 15 at the time of the crime.
The youths were sentenced to terms ranging from nine months in prison to up to one year and three months in prison. One of the convicts, an 18-year-old man, was also expelled from Denmark.
Some of the defendants received the sentence, others asked for time to reflect.
