23-year-old charged with shooting at Field’s
The Copenhagen Police Prosecutor’s Office has indicted a 23-year-old man in connection with the shooting in the shopping center Field’s on July 3 last year.
The now 23-year-old is accused of killing three people, a 17-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl and a 46-year-old man. In addition, he is also charged with 11 counts of attempted murder, as well as attempted murder by shooting at a group of approximately 21 people.
The 23-year-old man was arrested outside Field’s shortly after the shooting, and he has been in custody since his preliminary hearing on July 4.
-“This is an extremely serious case that the police have investigated very carefully. In the prosecution service, we have made a thorough legal assessment of the extensive material in the case, and therefore we have now brought charges,” says Special Prosecutor Søren Harbo from the Copenhagen Police.
The trial against the 23-year-old will start in June and six days are scheduled in Copenhagen City Court.
