Brønshøj lost to Holbæk
Brønshøj Boldklub played Friday evening away against Holbæk B&I in the promotion play-off of the Danmarksserien (The fifth best league in the Danish football tournament).
The hope for the Black and Yellows was a win, but a draw would also be an acceptable result against a Holbæk team that has got off to a good start after the winter break.
Holbæk had a slight upper hand at the start of the match, but after just under 25 minutes Brønshøj got a great chance when Andreas Horsebøg headed to a corner kick, but sent the ball past the goal.
The home team’s Tarik Mourhrib attempted a shot towards Brønshøj’s goal, but the goalkeeper was in position and saved the ball. Three minutes later, Mourhrib tried again, but this time he sent the ball past the goal.
Former Holbæk player Rasmus Suhr Petersen had a great chance when he dispatched the ball towards Holbæk’s goal with about seven minutes left in the first half. Unfortunate for him and the Brønshøj fans in attendance, it went straight at Holbæk’s goalkeeper.
Rasmus Suhr Petersen got the chance again a minute into the 2nd half, but it was only just about and almost before the ball hit the crossbar.
In the 50th minute, Holbæk’s Tarik Mouhrib tried again with a long shot, but the ball went past the goal. A few minutes later, what both Holbæk’s players and fans had been waiting for – the score – happened. From the edge of the box, Tarik Mourhrib sent the ball into goal, putting Holbæk ahead 1-0.
In the 65th minute, Anders Steen Nielsen extended Holbæk’s lead to 2-0 on a long shot that did not lend Brønshøj’s goalkeeper any chance.
Although both Holbæk and Brønshøj had a few chances in the remainder of the match, there were no more scores. The match ended 2-0 to Holbæk.
Brønshøj’s next match is against Frederikssund IK. It will be played on Saturday 8 April at Tingbjerg Ground. The match will kick off at 14:00.
