New Search Zones in Copenhagen Lead to Weapon Discoveries After Shooting Incident
On Monday evening, Copenhagen Police introduced stop-and-search zones in two locations in Copenhagen – and it has already led to the discovery of several weapons.
The police report that on Monday and Tuesday, they have conducted searches on around 50 individuals and found or confiscated six edged weapons, a bludgeon, and a pepper spray. Five individuals have been charged with illegal possession of weapons.
The stop-and-search zones, where one zone covers Christiania and an area of Amager, while the other covers an area of Nørrebro and Nordvest, were implemented after a shooting incident in Christiania, where one person was killed and four others were injured. The police believe that the shooting incident is part of a conflict within the biker gang environment in Copenhagen.
