Danish newspaper ends collaboration with renowned war photographer due to erroneous articles
The newspaper Politiken is discontinuing its collaboration with the award-winning Danish war photographer Jan Grarup.
This is reported by Politiken.
According to the newspaper, he has provided inaccurate information in reports from Ukraine.
In connection with a report from Ukraine, Jan Grarup described how he had fired a mortar shell at Russian troops along with Ukrainian soldiers at the front line. Subsequently, it has been corrected that he only wrote a message on the shell, which was then fired by a Russian soldier. Additionally, there have been other incorrect pieces of information from Grarup.
Jan Grarup is not employed by Politiken but works as a freelance photographer.
However, the editor-in-chief of Politiken does not rule out the possibility that the newspaper may collaborate with Jan Grarup in the future if he covers locations other than Ukraine.
