Man’s Detention Upheld, Woman and Man Released in Murder Case
A 30-year-old man had his detention upheld while a 26-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man were released in a case where all three are charged with murder.
On Sunday morning, a 49-year-old man was found in critical condition in an apartment on Peter Fabers Vej in western Aarhus. Shortly after, he passed away.
The two men and the woman were subsequently arrested and charged with murder on Sunday between approximately 3:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. for causing the death of the 49-year-old in an unknown manner. Additionally, they are charged with leaving the 49-year-old in a helpless condition.
On Sunday evening, they were brought to a preliminary hearing with a request for the continuation of their detention for 3×24 hours. However, the court chose instead to release the 26-year-old woman and the 46-year-old man. The 30-year-old man, who was presented in absentia, as he is currently ill and hospitalized, had his detention upheld.
-“There are some suspicious circumstances surrounding the death that make it impossible for us to rule out a criminal act,” says Deputy Police Inspector Flemming Nørgaard of East Jutland Police, adding:
-“The 30-year-old is the prime suspect in the case, and now the court has given us a few days to further investigate the case and conduct more technical examinations that can shed light on what happened at the address.
The police must, among other things, determine the cause of death.
-“The individuals involved are part of a substance abuse environment, and the suspects and the deceased 49-year-old man knew each other,” Flemming Nørgaard concludes.”
