99-year-old woman dead after violence at nursing home

A female resident in a nursing home has died after being subjected to violence by a male resident suffering from dementia at the nursing home on Saturday.

This information was provided by the Southeast Jutland Police.

The violent incident took place on Saturday morning at the nursing home “Kongenbro Centret” in Christiansfeld. A 74-year-old male resident had committed violence against a 99-year-old female resident. Subsequently, the woman was taken to the emergency room for treatment of her injuries.

On Sunday morning, the Southeast Jutland Police were informed that the woman had passed away.

The Southeast Jutland Police state that they have now initiated the relevant investigations at the crime scene, including interviews and gathering of medical information, etc. It will take some time before all elements of the incident are clarified.

The relatives have been notified, and the Southeast Jutland Police are in dialogue with Kolding Municipality.
