Frederik’s First Journey as King: Leading a Business Delegation to Poland and Nordic Travels with the Queen
King Frederik’s first official journey takes him to Poland, where he will lead a business delegation.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the business promotion has been prepared for a long time, even before the change of throne was known. It commences on January 31, with the king leading a business delegation accompanied by Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Climate, Energy, and Utilities Minister Lars Aagaard, and Minister for Food, Agriculture, and Fisheries Jacob Jensen.
The visit takes place both in Poland’s capital, Warsaw, where 38 Danish companies participate in a business promotion, and in the port city of Szczecin, where the King will, among other things, visit NATO’s regional headquarters and representatives from the Danish and Polish business communities in the city.
During the visit, the king will meet with Poland’s President H.E. Andrzej Duda at the Presidential Palace, as well as the chairpersons of the Senate and the Polish Lower House (Sejm). Additionally, His Majesty will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
After the business promotion, King Frederik and Queen Mary will, as tradition dictates, embark on their first joint journey with visits to neighboring countries. According to the Royal Household, the plan is for the royal couple to visit Sweden and Norway as their first destinations.
