The ombudsman is the Danish candidate for the position as a new judge at the EU Court of Justice
The government has nominated Niels Fenger, Folketingets Ombudsman, as a Danish judge at the EU Court of Justice.
This comes following a recommendation from the Judicial Appointments Council regarding international judicial positions.
Niels Fenger has been Ombudsman since December 1, 2019, and has previously worked as a judge and professor at the University of Copenhagen.
Judges at the EU Court of Justice are appointed by the governments of member states.
