Royal Run: More than 95,000 people ran with the royal family
Roughly 95,000 people participated when Royal Run took place on Monday in the host cities Fredericia, Brønderslev, Aarhus, Kalundborg, and Copenhagen/Frederiksberg.
The Royal Family also participated. His Majesty the King kicked off Royal Run by running one mile (1,609 km) in Fredericia, then headed to Aarhus where he ran 5 km. Her Majesty the Queen ran the 5 km distance in Kalundborg, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince participated in the one-mile run in Brønderslev.
The entire Royal Family then concluded the day in Copenhagen/Frederiksberg.
Royal Run is arranged by the sports vision “Move for Life” – a collaboration between the Danish Sports Confederation, DGI, and Danish Athletics – with the ambition of encouraging more Danes to be active. The run was first held in celebration of the King’s 50th birthday.
