Police shot at man
On Saturday morning, officers fired shots at a man at an address in Tyrens Kvarter in Ballerup.
This was reported by the Western Copenhagen Police in a press release.
The shooting occurred at 06:49 in connection with a police operation where a knife was drawn.
The man, who is in his early 30s, was subsequently taken to the hospital. Western Copenhagen Police has no information about his condition.
The case has now been handed over to the Independent Police Complaints Authority (DUP), which will investigate the circumstances of the shooting incident.
The Independent Police Complaints Authority confirms that they were alerted to the shooting incident by Copenhagen Vestegn Police at 07:28. Once the Independent Police Complaints Authority’s investigation of the incident is completed, they will prepare a report on the case for the Prosecutor in Copenhagen.
Western Copenhagen Police indicate that the man will be brought before a remand hearing later today – likely in absentia.
