New national team coach found
Brian Riemer will become the new head coach for the Danish national men’s soccer team.
This was announced by the Danish Football Association (DBU) on Thursday.
Brian Riemer brings international experience from, among other things, the Premier League, and in the past year, he has been in charge of the Belgian top club Anderlecht.
“With Brian Riemer, we get a coach with the energy, passion, and strong commitment that we have been looking for. He shares our views on football, aiming to dominate games and play offensive and technical football. At the same time, he has vast experience working with top-tier footballers and being in a position where it’s crucial to constantly deliver results and handle significant external pressure. Brian is also a person and a coach who can bring out the best in his players with both a loving and firm hand, which is vital on a national team,” says Peter Møller, who is the football director at DBU.
The agreement with 46-year-old Brian Riemer runs until the end of the 2026 World Cup.
Brian Riemer will stand on the sidelines as a national team coach for the first time for the last two matches in the Nations League group stage on November 15 against Spain at Parken and on November 18 in an away match against Serbia.
