45-year-old charged with severe violence against woman
A 45-year-old man was arrested on Thursday in Copenhagen and charged with severe violence against a 28-year-old woman in Esbjerg.
According to the police, the violence occurred on Wednesday evening this week, where a 28-year-old woman was subjected to a brutal assault and violence in central Esbjerg. This involved the use of a bottle, a stone, and attempted strangulation. She was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.
The accused and the woman are known to each other, and it turned out that the suspected perpetrator had fled to Zealand, where they both have addresses. The 45-year-old was arrested there on Thursday.
At the pretrial detention hearing on Friday, the 45-year-old was remanded in custody for four weeks.
