Four men aged 19-29 were today sentenced to life imprisonment by the Copenhagen City Court (Københavns Byret) for the murder of a 30-year-old man and attempted murder of three others at the building Stjerneskibet on Pusher Street in August last year.

In the early evening of August 26, 2023, two men approached the building Stjerneskibet on Pusher Street, where they fired at least 20 shots. The target was a 30-year-old man who was killed on the spot. Four random individuals were injured – one of them critically.

A 29-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment today as one of the two men who fired the fatal shots. He was convicted of murder, three attempted murders, and endangering the life of the fourth injured person.

Additionally, three more men were sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder and three attempted murders. They were found guilty of participating in the detailed planning of the shooting, including acquiring the firearms, planning the escape route, and disposing of the weapons and clothing used in the shooting incident.

“The court has upheld our claim that the three men involved in planning the murder played an equally significant role as those who carried it out – and therefore they should be punished equally harshly,” said prosecutor Alexander Scheel.

The four convicted individuals are registered gang members, and the court found it proven that the murder was intended to provoke a conflict between two rival rocker/gang groups. Therefore, the sentences are harshened under the so-called gang clause. They were also convicted of perpetuating the banned gang Loyal To Familia (LTF).

One of the three involved in planning the murder has been permanently expelled.

All four convicted individuals have chosen to appeal the sentences.

The other man suspected of firing the shots at Christiania is charged in the case but is, according to police, likely residing abroad. He is therefore internationally wanted.
