Young woman found severely injured – man now charged in the case
Police have charged a 46-year-old man for hitting a 17-year-old woman, who was found severely injured in Roskilde on Monday morning.
The 17-year-old was found severely injured in Blågårdsstræde at 08:18 by a citizen who immediately called 1-1-2. She was taken to the hospital for treatment, where according to the police, she is still in critical condition Monday night.
The 46-year-old man contacted the police Monday afternoon after learning of the incident.
“We have questioned the man, and based on our own investigations, we now believe with great certainty that the man accidentally hit the woman at Stændertorvet in the bad weather on Monday morning. He did not realize that the woman was caught on the car, which explains why she was found in Blågårdsstræde,” says Deputy Police Inspector Lars Krogsgaard.
The man was arrested and charged with negligent bodily harm. After questioning, he was released as it was determined that there was no basis for remanding him in custody.
