Danish film nominated for an Oscar
The Danish film, ‘The Girl with the Needle’, has been nominated for an Oscar in the category of Best International Feature Film.
The film is set just after World War I and is about the young factory worker Karoline, who becomes pregnant, unemployed, and abandoned. She meets a woman named Dagmar, who helps find foster families for unwanted children, and a strong bond is formed between the two. However, when the truth about Dagmar is revealed to her, Karoline’s world falls apart.
The film’s director is Magnus von Horn.
The Oscar ceremony will take place on March 2nd at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
