Handball World Championship: Denmark to face Portugal in the semifinal

Denmark will face Portugal in the semifinal of the Men’s Handball World Championship.

It became clear after Denmark won earlier in the evening against Brazil and Portugal subsequently won 31-30 over Germany in a thrilling match that required two five-minute periods of extra time after a 26-26 tie in regular game time.

While the match between Portugal and Germany was closely contested, there was no doubt about Denmark’s superiority when they played against Brazil.

At the end of the first half, Denmark was leading 15-12, particularly dominant in the first 20 minutes. The second half made it even clearer that Denmark was the stronger team, and when the final whistle blew, the Danes celebrated a 33-21 victory and secured their spot in the semifinal.

The semifinal will take place on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
