Henrik Sass Larsen: I Have Never Harmed a Child in Any Way

The former social democratic top politician, Member of Parliament, minister, and business leader, Henrik Sass Larsen, acknowledges that he is the one facing charges of possession of child sex doll and child pornography.

On Friday, it was revealed in Berlingske that a former minister had been charged with possessing extensive and extremely graphic images involving sexual abuse of children as well as a child sex doll.

Like most other news outlets, we chose not to reveal the name, even though we were aware of it, as a request for anonymity had been made in the case. An anonymity request that was to be considered by the court in Copenhagen on Monday.

However, on Sunday, Henrik Sass Larsen’s lawyer, Peter Lundmark Jensen, issued a press release stating that he had been appointed as Sass Larsen’s lawyer and that due to the case’s handling in the press, he no longer sees any point in seeking an anonymity order, and therefore has withdrawn the request for anonymity.

In another press release from Peter Lundmark Jensen, Henrik Sass Larsen speaks about the case:

“I have never harmed a child in any way – and I never will. My intention has been quite the opposite.”

and he continues:

“I had planned to disclose the sequence of events in connection with a book I am finalizing in order to provide a complete and full account of the matter. I had hoped and expected to have more time for this, but now I will use all my efforts to finish the book, tell my version of the story, and clear my name.”

Henrik Sass Larsen pleads not guilty.
