Foreign women detained after inspection at a brothel in Aarhus

Read Time:44 Second

Officers from East Jutland Police’s Immigration Section were on a brothel inspection at a massage parlor at an address in central Aarhus on Monday morning to check if there were individuals at the address who were staying or working without permission.

At the massage parlor, the police encountered three foreign women aged 32, 33, and 36 from Thailand, all of whom were working and could not present valid residence permits. The women were therefore detained in order to clarify their possible grounds for staying.

The women’s cases have been presented to the Center Against Human Trafficking, which did not determine that the women had been trafficked. The Immigration Service will also review the cases to assess whether the women should be deported.

The three women remain detained, charged with illegal stay and work. They are expected to be brought before a judge later in the week.
