Frederiksen visits Greenland
Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen will be visiting Greenland next week.
This was announced by the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday in a press release.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will, among other things, discuss the cooperation between Greenland and Denmark with the upcoming chairman of Naalakkersuisut, Jens-Frederik Nielsen.
“I look forward to continuing the close and trusting cooperation between Greenland and Denmark together with Jens-Frederik Nielsen and the rest of Naalakkersuisut. Greenland has just gone through a good democratic process and formed a broad government. It is important for me to visit as soon as possible and greet the incoming chairman of Naalakkersuisut,” said Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and continued:
“I have the deepest respect for how the Greenlandic people and politicians handle the great pressure on Greenland. It is a situation that calls for unity across political parties. Across the countries in the realm community. And for cooperation in a respectful and equal manner.”
In addition to meeting Jens-Frederik Nielsen, the Prime Minister will also, among other things, meet with the upcoming Naalakkersuisut.
