27-year-old charged with reckless driving
A 27-year-old driver was driving much faster than allowed when he was caught in a speed control on Amager Strandvej on Sunday morning.
According to the Copenhagen Police, the driver was measured to be driving at least 118 km/h on a stretch where the permitted speed limit is 50 km/h.
The significant speeding violation qualifies as reckless driving, and as a result, the 27-year-old driver will likely face an unconditional revocation of their driver’s license, a substantial fine, and a requirement to pay 500 DKK to the Victim Compensation Fund. There is also a possibility that the vehicle may be confiscated, and the driver could be sentenced to imprisonment.
