Handball European Championship: Denmark will play for gold
The Danish men’s national handball team has advanced to the final of the European Handball Championship (EM) after defeating Germany 26-29 on Friday evening.
It was a very close match at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne. Neither the Germans nor the Danes managed to pull away, and at halftime, Germany was ahead 14-12.
After the break, the close competition continued, and it wasn’t until towards the end that the Danes managed to create a bit of distance from the Germans. With five minutes remaining, Denmark was leading by five goals.
Germany fought bravely until the last moment, but Denmark held their ground, securing a spot in the EM final against France on Sunday.
