M3 and M4 closes for two week as M4s extension is tested

From today and for the next two weeks, metro lines M3 and M4 will be closed. This information comes from Metroselskabet.

The closure is necessary to conduct testing on the new section of the M4 line, which is set to open in the summer and will include five new stations in Sydhavn and Valby.

The Metro lines M3 and M4 share a driverless control system along with shared stations, trains, and tracks between Østerport and København H. Hence, a temporary suspension of operations on M3 and M4 is required to adjust and test the control system. This will allow the five new stations in Sydhavn and Valby to be integrated into the existing metro system, and the updated system can then receive the necessary safety approvals.

During the period from February 10th to February 26th, passengers on the M3/M4 route are encouraged to seek alternative transportation options. Metro buses will be available to replace the M3 and M4 services. Metroselskabet advises passengers to plan their journey using Rejseplanen.
