Sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling 14 kg of drugs
Friday a 23-year-old man from Frederiksberg has been sentenced to ten years in prison for possession and resale of 14 kg of drugs.
The court in Frederiksberg has handled the case as a confession case.
The now-convicted person was arrested by the police in July 2022, when he was apprehended at his residence in Frederiksberg. During a search of the residence, the police found 6 kg of cocaine and 2 kg of heroin.
Until the arrest, the National Unit for Special Crime (NSK) had been interested in a group of Dutch citizens who were suspected of transporting large quantities of drugs to Denmark in German-registered cars. Three times in June and July, the now-convicted man was observed meeting with one of the Dutch suspects—the last time immediately before the police proceeded to arrest him.
In December 2022, a 31-year-old man was sentenced to 13 years in prison at the Court in Lyngby in the same case complex. That case has been appealed, and the cases against the Dutch nationals are being conducted separately.
-“I am satisfied with the verdict. It is the good investigative work of the police that has paved the way for the court to be able to assume without question that the convicted person was in possession of large quantities of narcotics. The sentence reflects well that this is severely punished, but also that the convicted person himself has confessed his role,” says special prosecutor at NSK, Rasmus von Stamm.
