Her Majesty Queen Margrethe was discharged on Friday after being admitted to Rigshospitalet on Wednesday following a fall.

The Royal Palace announced this in a press release.

In the fall, the Queen sustained an injury around the neck vertebrae as well as a fracture in her left hand. As a result of the unfortunate fall, her left hand is now in a cast, and she will have to wear a stiff neck brace in the coming months.

The Royal Palace stated that Queen Margrethe is now back at her home at Fredensborg Palace and she is in good spirits. According to the press release, the Queen is doing well under the circumstances, but she will be on sick leave for an extended period. This also means that her presence at a number of events in the near future has been cancelled, as per the Royal Palace’s statement.
