Aldi leaving Denmark: Closing 59 stores
The discount chain Aldi has decided to close 59 stores at the beginning of the new year.
Almost two weeks ago, the German owners decided to withdraw from Denmark. In this connection, an agreement was entered into with Rema 1000 to take over 114 stores and 3 logistics centers.
Aldi is left with 73 stores. Aldi expects to be able to divest 15 of the stores to other grocery players. The remaining 59 stores will be closed beginning at the end of January 2023.
