Prime Minister sends condolences after attack at Christmas market in Germany
Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen sends her condolences to the victims and their families after the attack at a Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg on Friday evening.
Two people have died. One of the victims is a small child. Additionally, nearly 70 people are injured, some seriously, and authorities cannot rule out the possibility of more deaths.
The attack occurred when a car drove directly into the crowd at the Christmas market. Subsequently, the driver of the car, a 50-year-old man from Saudi Arabia, was arrested.
Mette Frederiksen wrote on the Danish Prime Minister’s official social media profile X:
“Terrible news from Magdeburg. My deepest condolences to the victims and their loved ones. Denmark stands in solidarity with the German people.”
