“We can no longer think that we are in a time of peace,” said Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (Social Democrats) on Tuesday.

This was reported by several media outlets, including TV2.

The words were spoken at a so-called “doorstep press meeting” after a meeting in Helsinki between NATO countries around the Baltic Sea.

Mette Frederiksen is not the only head of state with the belief that it is no longer a time of peace. Just the other day, it caused a stir when Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said, “Sweden is not at war, but there is also not peace,” and elaborated that for true peace, there must be freedom and no serious conflicts between countries. He talked about how Sweden and other countries are subjected to cyberattacks, misinformation, and sabotage.

The Danish Prime Minister agrees with her Swedish counterpart that there is no war, but the increased activity indicates that it is also not a time of peace.

At the meeting in Helsinki, NATO countries in the Baltic Sea region agreed to strengthen defense against future threats to underwater cables and pipelines.
