Copenhagen Light Festival
Today marks the beginning of the Copenhagen Light Festival.
The Copenhagen Light Festival has evolved to become Europe’s leading light festival in terms of the number of light installations. With plenty to see, the festival showcases light installations created by both Danish and international artists, blending art, technology, and city spaces in a way that creates unique experiences for both locals and tourists.
The festival runs until August 23rd, and every day between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM, visitors can enjoy the many light installations.
Around 400,000 visitors experience the festival each year, solidifying its position as one of the most visited events in Denmark.
The installations are primarily located in the city center, but there are also works in Christianshavn, Refshaleøen, Nordhavn, Vestre Kirkegård, Sydhavn, Ørestad, and Nørrebro. Some of the installations are interactive.
The organizers have released an app to help visitors locate the installations. Additionally, the app offers a light treasure hunt.
