DeepSeek Prohibited
The Presidium of the Danish Parliament now prohibits the use of the Chinese AI service DeepSeek on devices provided by the Parliament.
The Parliament’s Presidium is responsible for ensuring that the Parliament’s IT systems are sufficiently secure and the Presidium does not wish to grant access to DeepSeek due to the risk of surveillance of Parliament’s data. This was announced by the Presidium on the Parliament’s website.
The decision follows the recommendation by the Parliament’s Presidium on February 14th, advising against using DeepSeek on devices provided by the Parliament. As a precaution, the Presidium has now enforced an actual ban on the Chinese AI service. The ban in Parliament is also in line with the practice of the State IT, where access to DeepSeek has been shut off on work computers.
The ban applies to all devices provided by the Parliament, including iPhones, iPads, and PCs.
