Tour de France Winner Jonas Vingegaard to be Celebrated in Copenhagen
The winner of this year’s Tour de France, Jonas Vingegaard, will be celebrated in Copenhagen on Wednesday.
It will first take place at Copenhagen City Hall and then at Tivoli Gardens.
At Copenhagen City Hall, Lord Mayor Sophie Hæstorp Andersen (S) will be the host for the official celebration.
Jonas Vingegaard will arrive at the Balustrade at City Hall at 1:00 PM.
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Minister of Culture Jakob Engel-Schmidt, and the Chairman of Danmarks Cyckle Union (the Danish Cycling Union) Morten Anderson will all deliver speeches.
At 1:40 PM, Jonas Vingegaard will step out onto the City Hall’s balcony for the celebration.
Following that, there will be a reception and city hall pancakes before heading to Tivoli Gardens.
The program at Tivoli Gardens starts at 4:00 PM, where Jonas Vingegaard, along with other Danish cycling heroes, will ride Line 8 from Tivoli’s Main Entrance to the Plænen (lawn) with Harlequin and Columbine in front and Pjerret on a yellow cargo bike.
At the Plænen, Stine Bjerre Vingegaard will invite Jonas and the other Danish cyclists for a talk about the Tour de France.
